Prospects (Leicestershire)

Prospects provides advice and guidance for young people aged 16—19 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) (the age limit raises to 25 for young people with a learning disability or difficulty) on behalf of Leicestershire County Council.

Prospects holds a drop-in and an appointment service in Hinckley and Loughborough, and also provides support at outreach venues throughout the county.

Both centres are open Monday to Friday.

Connexions- Leicester City

Connexions is the careers service for young people. They offer advice and guidance on finding a job, training course or apprenticeship in Leicester.

Adult Learning and Skills- Rutland County Council

The Rutland Adult Learning and Skills Service (RALSS) provide opportunities for adults across the county of Rutland to improve their skills through a wide range of academic and vocational courses.

Working in partnership with Peterborough Regional College, RALSS offers apprenticeships and workplace learning qualifications in areas such as:

  • Support Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Early Years and Childcare
  • Health and Social Care
  • Business Administration
  • Customer Service Catering and Hospitality
  • Accounts (AAT)

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust runs a confidential secure text messaging service for parents of children aged 0-19 years called Chat Health. The service operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, excluding bank holidays. All texts will be responded to by a public health nurse (health visitor/school nurse) within 24 hours. Outside of the service working hours, you’ll receive a message back to inform you that your text will be responded to once the line reopens.

Should you require urgent health advice in the meantime, please contact your GP, visit an NHS walk-in centre or call NHS 111. For emergencies, dial 999 or visit A&E.
