The free live ‘Introducing Solids Food’ Webinars are aimed at parents who have babies aged around 16-24 weeks of age. It is also suitable if your baby is younger, and you want to be ready when the time comes to start introducing solids.
Evidence based guidance recommends the introduction of solids when your baby is around 6 months of age.
Encouraging good eating habits from the start is the best foundation for future healthy eating behaviour. It is good to learn how to get started and what to expect.
These one-off sessions are delivered in a virtual (video link) format lasting for 60-75 mins and includes the following topics (all sessions will deliver the same information):
- Expectations around weaning
- When babies are ready to start solids
- Developmental readiness
- Food ideas – to try or avoid
- Meal examples
- Common worries or obstacles.
