If you’re pregnant, aged below 21 and live in Leicestershire, you are eligible for a baby box – a great resource that helps new parents prepare for the arrival of their baby. If you live in Leicester City, you might be eligible for a baby welcome pack. Click here for more information.
You may be contacted by a Family well-being worker to offer you a baby box before your baby’s due date. Alternatively, you can be referred to your local Family Hub by your midwife. Once they’ve received the referral, a family well-being worker will arrange to meet with you to deliver your baby box and to talk about your pregnancy, birth and to offer you support and advice. For example, they can give you details of local groups where you can meet other new parents, learn about being a parent and be supported to look after yourself.
We can also offer you support with other aspects of being a parent after your baby has been born. This is done through our Teenagers and Babies Action Group where we can offer you support around topics such as housing, education, employment, health etc.
