Take a look at the free antenatal groups available to those living in Leicester City from Heads Up.

Bumps to Babies antenatal groups – for pregnant women/people living in Leicester City

Over 4 sessions we talk about;

  • looking after yourself in pregnancy
  • labour and pain relief
  • feeding your baby,
  • becoming a parent or having a new baby in the family and
  • baby care.

All in a relaxed and friendly way.

The sessions have been designed by Midwives, Public Health Nurses (Health Visitors), Infant Feeding specialists and Early Years professionals. The sessions are free and taking place across Leicester City.

They give the opportunity to meet other pregnant women/people and families. Partners or others supporting are welcome.

Bumps to Babies antenatal groups – for pregnant teenagers living in Leicester City

Over the 5 sessions we talk about;

  • looking after yourself in pregnancy
  • labour and pain relief
  • feeding your baby
  • becoming a parent and
  • baby care.

All in a relaxed and friendly way.

The sessions have been designed by Midwives, Public Health Nurses (Health Visitors), Infant Feeding specialists and Early Years professionals. They are free, lunch is provided and transport to and from the venue is available. Partners or others supporting are welcome.

Sessions take place on Tuesdays from 11.30 – 1.30pm at The Grove Community Hub, Cort Cresent, Braunstone, LE3 1QZ for the first four sessions and Braunstone Children, Young People an Family Centre for the final session.

Those who attend the sessions will receive a free “baby box” full of baby care essentials and goodies. If you would like to meet the staff who run the sessions before you attend, this can be arranged.

Wellbeing in pregnancy groups – for pregnant women/people living in Leicester City

Over the 4 sessions we cover everything that pregnant parents want to know about how to have a healthy pregnancy, emotionally.

We talk about;

  • ways to cope with worry, stress and anxiety during pregnancy
  • how to bond and communicate with your baby before and after birth
  • getting ready for being a parent and what to expect.

The sessions are free, friendly and supportive, and give the opportunity to meet other pregnant women/people and families. Partners or support persons welcome.

Groups are held in various community settings around the city. Support with transport to the group is available.

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust runs a confidential secure text messaging service for parents of children aged 0-19 years called Chat Health. The service operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, excluding bank holidays. All texts will be responded to by a public health nurse (health visitor/school nurse) within 24 hours. Outside of the service working hours, you’ll receive a message back to inform you that your text will be responded to once the line reopens.
