A website providing a wealth of information for families with children about to start school is available online.
The Starting Reception website covers the personal, social, emotional and physical skills that most children will develop by the time they start school. This is also referred to as ‘school readiness’.
This has been created to help parents, caregivers, and the early years professionals involved in looking after young children get them ready to start school.
It includes downloadable guides for starting reception, lots of advice and information, as well as toothbrushing and potty training guides, and can be translated into a few different languages, along with providing accessibility tools.
The website has been created by a number of organisations including CBeebies Parenting, Early Years Alliance, The Children’s Bowel and Bladder Charity (ERIC) and the Confederation of School Trusts.
Find out more by visiting the Starting Reception website.
Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for the writing, publishing and updating of the content on this page.
