Glue ear is where the empty middle part of the ear canal fills up with sticky fluid which then impacts on your child’s hearing. It is often associated with coughs and colds and is more common in the winter months. Glue ear is usually diagnosed by an Audiologist and will be monitored by the Audiology department. It will usually resolve without intervention. Children will grow out of glue ear and its less likely to occur in children over the age of 8.
