The Leicestershire Public Health Team – Professional Resources

The Leicestershire Public Health Team aims to protect and improve the health and quality of life for everyone in Leicestershire by providing and commissioning services to promote the wellbeing and address inequalities in health.

Some of the services that are applicable for professionals are listed below.

Healthy Tots

Healthy Tots is a health promotion programme offered to early years settings in Leicestershire, supporting settings to enhance and showcase their activities and effort in providing a healthy environment for their children and staff.

The service provides support to professionals, anyone who works for a nursery/early years setting in Leicestershire.

Services Supporting Public Health Nursing 0-11

Confidential advice, care and support to all families with babies and young children up to 11 years old. Central point of contact for services available to parents and their families. Monitoring and promotion of the physical and emotional health of mothers, babies and their families.

ChatHealth Logo

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust runs a confidential secure text messaging service for parents of children aged 0-19 years called Chat Health. The service operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, excluding bank holidays. All texts will be responded to by a public health nurse (health visitor/school nurse) within 24 hours. Outside of the service working hours, you’ll receive a message back to inform you that your text will be responded to once the line reopens.

Healthy Together Logo

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust runs the Healthy Together Helpline for parents and carers in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The Helpline’s qualified health and administrative professionals offer easy to access, safe and free advice, support and signposting. Calls are answered from 9am – 4.30pm on weekdays, excluding bank holidays. Calls are charged at the same rate as calling a standard landline number.
