Your midwife will let your Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) know that you’re expecting a baby. Health Visitors are part of the Healthy Together team that work with children and young people aged 0-19 and their families.

You will receive a letter from the Healthy Together Team when you are around 28-36 weeks pregnant with information on how to access the Healthy Child Programme’s evidence based digital information on pregnancy and caring for your baby.

This digital information includes:

  • Your support networks
  • Your health and pregnancy, including the immunisation programme, healthy eating, vitamins and oral health
  • Emotional health and wellbeing and bonding with your baby
  • Caring for your baby, including safer sleep, feeding choices and supporting their development
  • Bumps to Babies antenatal video sessions

You can find lots of advice, information and support for this stage of your pregnancy in our antenatal collection.

In addition to the Antenatal contact, Healthy Together also offers a health promotion programme to pregnant mothers called ‘Bumps to Babies’. This consists of four digital antenatal sessions, which can be accessed here.

If you would like to speak to the health visiting team about this contact, you can call the Healthy Together Helpline on 0300 300 3001, or you can get in touch via our confidential text messaging service, ChatHealth; details of which you can see below:

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust runs a confidential secure text messaging service for parents of children aged 0-19 years called Chat Health. The service operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, excluding bank holidays. All texts will be responded to by a public health nurse (health visitor/school nurse) within 24 hours. Outside of the service working hours, you’ll receive a message back to inform you that your text will be responded to once the line reopens.

Should you require urgent health advice in the meantime, please contact your GP, visit an NHS walk-in centre or call NHS 111. For emergencies, dial 999 or visit A&E.
