Baby Buddy pregnancy and parenting app

Parents and carers in Nottinghamshire are being invited to check out Baby Buddy 2.0, the free pregnancy and parenting app from charity, Best Beginnings.

Baby Buddy gives parents the skills and confidence to take care of themselves and give their child the best start in life. There is bite-sized personalised daily information, over 300 videos featuring stories from parents and advice from healthcare experts, and tools to help you manage pregnancy and beyond.

All of the content in Baby Buddy 2.0 has been developed in partnership with parents and some of the UK’s leading healthcare organisations. It is endorsed by Royal College of General Practitioners, Royal College of Midwives, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Community Practitioners and Health Visitors Association, Royal College of Psychiatrists, Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists, British Society of Paediatric Dentistry and Faculty of Public Health.

Over 10,000 parents, professionals and organisations have tested the app and everybody’s feedback has been included in the newest version.

Baby Buddy has information and support around pregnancy and the early months of your child’s life, with the latest features including:

  • Daily personalised information up to your child’s first birthday
  • Daily personalised information for dads and non-birthing co-parents
  • A digital personal child health record to record growth, vaccinations, appointments and other milestones for baby
  • Tools to help you find information about maternity units in the UK and plan the sort of birth you want.

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust runs a confidential secure text messaging service for parents of children aged 0-19 years called Parentline. The service operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 4.30pm, excluding bank holidays. All texts will be responded to by a public health practitioner within 24 hours. Outside of the service working hours, you’ll receive a message back to inform you that your text will be responded to once the line reopens.
