We are pleased to announce that our Healthy Lifestyles program for families with children aged between 0-5 years has been updated.
Research has shown that childhood obesity can pose significant physical and emotional risks to children both in the short and long term. Therefore, our health visiting teams play a crucial role in promoting healthy lifestyles through early identification, supporting health promotion, and change management.
As part of the wider initiative to promote healthy weight and nutrition in children, we offer a new bespoke support program to all families on our caseloads. The program is tailored to meet the specific needs of each family, as not all families require the same level of support or advice. Following a conversation with the family, our health visiting team will help set realistic and achievable goals to encourage a healthier lifestyle. These goals may include portion control, reducing intake of fats and sugars, healthy snack alternatives, and ways to increase physical activity.
We have created an information tab on the Warwickshire Health visiting Linktree, which provides detailed information on healthy lifestyles for families.
If you would like to participate in the Healthy Lifestyles Program, or are interested in a healthy lifestyle conversation, please contact your local health visiting team.
